Physiotherapy department

At the Physiotherapy Department, we offer services to a wide range of patients across various specialties within the department. The specialties include Medicine/Neurology/Mental health Physiotherapy; Geriartric physiotherapy; Paediatric physiotherapy; Women Health physiotherapy; Ergonomics/Occupational health physiotherapy; Surgery /Orthopaedics/ Sports / Recreation physiotherapy & Cardiopulmonary physiotherapy. We have various therapeutic sections in the department vis, Electrotherapy, Manipulative therapy, Hydrotherapy, Exercise therapy and plaster of Paris (POP). In conjunction with the orthopaedic surgeons, we run a clubfoot clinic in the department. The programme is in partnership with Health and Development Support Programme (HANDS) with support from Miraclefeet. The clinic holds every Wednesday in the plaster unit of the department. We also run a Child Development Unit in collaboration with paediatrics department. We have well trained and dedicated physiotherapists in the department with a compliment of committed supporting staff. We are aware that by virtue of our status we have to provide leadership role in organisation, research, provision and delivery of physiotherapy services to the people of Benue state and beyond. To this end we are working collaboratively with other sister departments in the state to ensure that the people of Benue State enjoy the full benefits of Physiotherapy.
