History and developmental strides
The BSUTH project started sometime in the year 2008 with the Management Board inaugurated on 27th August, 2008, by the then Executive Governor of Benue State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Gabriel Torwua Suswam, with Prof. Peter O. Obekpa as Chairman. The BSUTH Management which was also appointed had Prof. A. O. Malu as Chief Medical Director, while Dr. Priscilla Denen Akaa and Mr. Tavershima Akpe were the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee and the Director of Administration respectively. Management had six staff seconded to the hospital from the civil service and three drivers who Management had employed. Leadership
The Teaching Hospital is now headed by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, with two main Directorates: Directorate of Clinical Services headed by the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) Prof. Michael Agbir, and Directorate of Administration headed by Mr. Terkaa Luga.
